A LOVE AFFAIR WITH BBQ
I honestly can’t remember when or how my obsession with BBQ started. My earliest memories of cooking go way back to when I was a little kid….probably 5 or 6 years old sitting on my grandfather’s lap and watching cooking shows.
When I was a little older I remember watching my Dad and my uncles grilling up chicken, hotdogs, and hamburgers for summer family cookouts. The first time I had “BBQ” ribs was at Outback Steakhouse and I thought they were amazing.
I’m kind of embarrassed to admit that now, but I think that’s probably what got me into looking up how to cook up real barbecue ribs. That curiosity I had for cooking as a kid turned into an obsession and passion for barbecue as I got older. For me cooking barbecue is a way I can express my artistic side and share that with my friends and family. That’s what I really love about it.
Barbecue brings people together to fellowship and enjoy good food with good people. The more I work and refine my craft….the more I want to share it with people. That to me is what Barbecue is all about.
